Apple crisp oatmeal is a delicious way to make your oatmeal in the morning. This is an tasty variation of amish baked oatmeal. And I’m not talking about those apple and cinnamon flavored instant oatmeal packets. Even those taste pretty good… but home made apple crisp oatmeal will blow your mind. Sadly, my mom and my grandma never made this for me when I was younger, this is something I discovered when I started eating healthier.
This is pretty easy to make, and like I said, it’s really really good. Not to mention its a healthy version of apple crisp. Your kids will go nuts for it, unless they’re weird of course…
Apple Crisp Oatmeal Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3-4 Granny Smith apples peeled and thinly sliced… should be about 4 cups
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 cup of oatmeal
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon, optional
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Instructions:
- Combine the apples, lemon juice, and the sugar (not brown sugar) in a greased 9″ baking pan and mix them around together.
- In a bowl, mix together everything else (now use the brown sugar).
- Spread the crumbly oat mixture over the apples evenly in your pan.
- Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes until the apples are tender.
- You can top this with whip cream, ice cream, or my personal (healthy) favorite… milk.
- Enjoy
